8 Amazing Beauty and Hygiene Products under Ksh.1000!

Updated: May 27, 2023

Hello and welcome to yet another blog post!

Today, we’ll be doing something light and fun, that I haven’t done in a while, which is talking about some of the best beauty and hygiene products, that are under ksh.1000.

I am a constant user of these products, so I hope that’s enough for you to trust me with my recommendations haha.

Kindly note the prices of the products, except the pimple patches are from Carrefour and may vary if you prefer to shop from elsewhere.

Anyway, let’s begin :)

1. Vaseline

We start with a classic product, that’s a staple in the majority of our homes. Ever since I was young, we were always slathered on Vaseline, from our heads to our toes. Even as an adult, it’s a product I love and enjoy. I usually apply it to my face at night. This procedure is known as slugging, and I will talk about it in a future blog post. I also use Vaseline as a moisturizer all over my body. I don’t even use lotion anymore!

I love this product because it’s simple, moisturizing, gentle on the skin, and has a ton of uses.

It comes in a variety of sizes, from the smallest that you can fit in your bag and roam around in, to the largest that you can use for the entire family.

Its price ranges from Ksh.75 For the 250 ml size and Ksh. 500 For the 450 ml size.

2. Dettol original antibacterial soap

I fell in love with this soap this year. I like the smell, and it thoroughly cleans my skin. After using it, I feel super fresh. I love using it right after a workout, it really gets in there and cleans amazingly well.

Dettol is also a classic brand and you can easily find it in any supermarket.

A single piece goes for Ksh. 209.

3. Dove original beauty bar

This one is another classic and has been around for ages! I like it because it is simple, has a gentle fragrance, and thoroughly cleanses the skin without drying it out.

I recommended this to my younger sister who’s just starting to have a skincare routine for her face, and ever since then she’s loved it and it has helped her skin a lot!

If you are starting on taking care of your skin, I recommend this soap.

A single piece goes for Ksh.209.

4. Dove intensive moisturizing cream

I have been using this cream as my day moisturizer for ages and I love it! Sometimes I use it to moisturize my face at night and the next morning, my face is super soft!

Just like the beauty bar, it is simple, has a gentle fragrance, and is very moisturizing.

I love it because it easily absorbs into the skin and it doesn’t leave that weird white cast.

I would highly recommend it as a moisturizer, especially if you are just starting on your skincare journey.

Also, a tin of this size lasts for months and months! This tin size goes for Ksh. 175.

5. Dove deep moisture shower gel

I think by now you know I love Dove products haha. Now, this shower gel I love love love.

I love this shower gel, because it has a beautiful and gentle scent, it lathers easily and it’s moisturizing too! Have you ever heard of a shower gel that cleanses and moisturizes?! Well, this one is for you.

A bottle size like this goes for Ksh.795.

6. Nivea shine control sunscreen

Something I have mentioned time and again is wearing sunscreen, and any skincare enthusiast, dermatologist, or esthetician will tell you that sunscreen is a staple in skincare.

I would say my skin type is the combination skin type, whereby as the day progresses, my forehead and nose area get oily, while my cheeks area stays normal. As you can see from the package, this sunscreen is shine control and has a mattifying effect on the skin. Since I began using it, my forehead hardly gets oily anymore.

I love it because it easily absorbs into my skin, it does not leave a white cast and it is SPF 50!

Do not be fooled by its small size, it can last for months even when constantly reapplied during the day :).

It goes for Ksh.960.

7. Nivea berry shine lip balm

The next product I adore is this Nivea berry shine lip balm. I love this one because it leaves my lips soft and moisturized and it leaves this beautiful pinkish-purplish color on your lips, so if you don’t feel like putting on lipstick or lip gloss that day, this will still make your lips pop :). It also smells nice and fruity. Plus, it lasts long!

This lip balm goes for Ksh.0! it usually comes free when you buy the Nivea Cocoa Butter lotion. However, if you prefer to buy it on its own, it goes for Ksh.340.

8. Uncover ‘I am spotless’ pimple patches

Finally, the last product on this list is the Uncover pimple patches. When I tell you this product is a lifesaver, you better believe it!

If you have one of those pesky pimples that are ripe and you just want to pop it, well you don’t have to, these patches will save your life, and your skin!

After you cleanse your face, take one of these patches and put it on the pimple, and go about your business.

I like to use them at night before bed because that’s when I feel they work best. The next morning, they have an opaque (lol) color that’s white or yellow, which is the gunk that it’s absorbed off the pimple. The pimple has significantly shrunk, or completely gone!

I love this product because it actually works, it helps me not pick at my pimples which will leave scars and when I ordered it I got it promptly, within the same day, so I was impressed with the customer service. Plus, they also last long! You get 18 patches per pack! Aaand, they are from a Kenyan brand, so I feel very patriotic when I use them haha.

They go for Ksh.899 Per pack. The Uncover brand constantly offers discounts, so you may get it at a lesser price :).

Alright then, that’s all I have for this blog post. I hope you have enjoyed this post and will get a thing or two from this list for yourself :).

I’ll see you on the next one!

Xoxo,

BK.
