Last time we talked about some of the best products you could find out there, today we talk about some of the ones that I regret buying.
Hello and welcome to another blog post. Today we will be talking about some of the beauty products I have tried that I regret buying.
The point of this post is not to hate/bash these products, it’s just to inform and educate on some of the ingredients they may have that may not work well for you.
Anyway, let’s get into it.
1. Nivea perfect and radiant even tone 3-in-1 cleanser
This product is quite popular and I am sure you have seen it in the beauty section of the supermarket. I had seen it around and it thought, oh well, let’s try this. Plus clay masks help to balance the oiliness of my skin, especially around the t-zone area (forehead and nose).
This is a 3-in-1 product, meaning you can use it as a cleanser, scrub, or mask. I am all for multi-purpose products so that’s a win for me.
However, I have an issue with this one because it has a strong fragrance. Immediately after I opened it, I could smell it a mile away. You may think this is a good thing because we all want our skin to smell good, but the thing about strongly fragrant products is that they can be extremely irritating on the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin.
As you shop for your next skincare or beauty product, if you can, open it and take a little whiff of it to see how strong it smells. Or, check the ingredients list, if ‘parfum’ or fragrance is listed as one of the top ingredients, you might want to avoid that. It is best to stick to soft fragrances or entirely fragrant-free products.
Despite all this, I use it as a body scrub and it leaves my skin feeling super soft. :)
2. Nivea soft care moisturizing cream
I have no hate for Nivea lol. In fact, I use and love some of their products, I even shared some in the previous post. But this is another one I don’t like that much.
I bought it a while ago because I wanted to try out another moisturizer besides the dove intensive moisturizing cream that I use, but this one did not serve me well.
I have the same issue with this one as the first product I mentioned: fragrance, fragrance, fragrance. Also, it takes a while to blend into my skin, so after applying I have to put great effort into working it into my skin so that it doesn’t leave a white cast and I end up looking like a ghost👻.
However, I use it as a hand cream and it leaves my hands soft and well-moisturized, so at least it’s not all bad.
3. P.O Care Aloe Vera gel mask
Last but not least is this aloe vera gel mask.
I am sure we have all heard a lot about the many benefits that aloe vera has both topically and internally. However, this mask is just… there. It doesn’t really do anything, and there’s hardly a difference in the way my skin looks or feels after using it regularly.
Face masks are not mandatory for your skincare routine, but they can be a great addition to it. Some of them have ingredients that could help you achieve your skincare goals, plus they’re fun.
A plus of this mask is that it is soothing and relaxing. So, if your skin has been feeling irritated lately, this would be a great thing to help calm it down. I recommend storing it in the fridge for some time before applying it for an enhanced cooling effect. You can have a little fun spa date with yourself with this one.
Alright, people, that’s it for today’s post.
Again, no hate for these products, since they didn’t work for me as I wanted them to, I have still found ways to use them. Plus, even if it didn’t work for me, doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.
I’ll see you on the next one,
Xoxo
BK.
