My Story

Hi! I'm Kambe. But if you want to get on my good side, call me Miss Kambe.😉

Here's the story of how I started  this blog and a few things about me.

It was the year 2020, in the thickness of quarantine. After being home for months, with nothing much going on, transitioning from various spaces and healing from past experiences, an idea slowly began to form in my heart.

At the time, it may have just been me, but there was a lot of tension in the social media world, and in came cancel culture. I often found it super overwhelming being online, and longed for a place to just relax and get my mind off of the craziness around me. Kind of like a place that I could take A Breath Of Fresh Air (see what I did there?😆).

After lots of prayer, seeking God, doing tons of research on creating websites and the world of blogging, in April 2021, my first post went up, and I have been continuing on till now, and hope to do this for a long time coming.

I have learnt countless lessons since then, but I think the major one for me, is embracing you're whole self, Spirit, Mind, Body and Soul. I know what it feels like to push yourself with work or when life kicks you in the face, that you abandon other aspects of yourself, and at the end of it all, you're left burnt out, exhausted, resentful and lost.

That's why I am passionate about empowering, inspiring and educating young women and girls to take care of themselves and live excellently. That ranges from taking care of your spirit, to your body and mind with practical self-care practices that the content of this page will center on.

I believe God created us with beautiful minds, unique personalities and imparted in us incredible ideas, and it would be an injustice to us and Him, to shun these aspects of ourselves, because of the fear of looking 'unspiritual', and this is the dilemma that faces many, including myself.

I had to unlearn the thought of, to be effective in God's kingdom, it's got to be from the pulpit. There are so many avenues and ways God can reach people, no matter how unique and different it is from the norm. He is God.

Some Random facts about me;

  • I am quite introverted and would easily come off as quiet and calm to new people, which can easily be mistaken as being naïve, gullible or soft (which I am sometimes lol), but I do have my limits and boundaries, and will communicate if need be. And I do believe I am a strong person, it just expresses itself differently, like a quiet strength. I don't equate being combative to being strong.

  • I love deep conversations, and often get bored with small talk. However, for the sake of forming new connections, I am willing to endure, at first haha.

  • Ultimately, my dream is to be a wife, mum and entrepreneur. 💍💸👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

  • I am very imaginative, and can come up with crazy scenarios in my head, which is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing cause it makes me more creative, a curse cause I tend to overthink.

  • I love all things that entail self-care, personal development and writing. This blog is the best creative outlet for me, for now to utilize my gifts and learn more about my interests while creating a rich online community.

'God has shaped and crafted us internally- with a unique personality, thoughts, dreams, temperament, feelings, talents, gifts, and desires. He has planted 'true seeds of self' inside of us. They make up the authentic 'us.' We are also deeply loved. We are a treasure.'
